Macro shot at 90 degrees to the canvas of an impasto patch of one of my wife's canvasses. Thought that it made for an interesting abstracty type photo.

Amazing, +Steve Johnson Until I read your post, I thought it was a baby Crocodile – shows what an imagination I have:) Beautiful, BTW.
+Jussta Jussta Thanks! – I can see the croc now that you have pointed it out.
I've always been a fan of photos of paintings… not always easy to capture. Nicely done Steve.
Thanks +Lisa Mikulski must admit that it was harder than I thought it was going to be – better lighting and a double jointed wrist would have helped :)
I know that feeling … photographing a painting brings with it all kinds of challenges that you (or at least I) never expected. My biggest challenge = glare.
+Lisa Mikulski White room, on camera flash pointing straight up at ceiling – no Dome or diffuser (really important) in white room for flat even light. I use Nikon d40x and sb600 flash. Works great for gallery wrap – even varnished but frames will still cast downward shadow :) .
