This is the same circular bench as I photographed yesterday. This shot was taken when the sun was higher in the sky so the shadows really come into play. Bumping the contrast so as to make the shadows indistinguishable from the bench simplifies the shot a lot and gives it a certain strength – in my opinion at any rate.
This one was shot with the Canon A3100 IS point and shoot. I set the dial to landscape to bump the aperture from f2/7 to a more depth of field friendly f8. The only problem with this is that the camera then sets the ISO automatically and sets it to 80 which is, I suspect, below it’s native resolution. This is not generally a good thing.
