The Minimalist Woman

Great shot! XD
+Keiichi Takahashi Thanks – really appreciated :)
wow! What a beautiful shot, who knew barbed wire was so photogenic
+dizzy blond thanks :)
That sky is the perfect background for the barbed wire. Thanks +Steve Johnson
+Liz Christian Thanks – it was the line of cloud that made me 'see' the shot.
The vine growing across the wire caught my eye. Use to cast that little twist into bronze and silver for metal work. I enjoy the twist of the vine compared to the twist of the fence. Curious about the fence…we call this chain link fencing, barbed is something different…so it regional?
+Kim Smith It is chain link not barbed wire you are right. I have a friend who makes bronze sculptures of animals and the legs are cast from vines like this one. Sounds odd but the sculptures look really good.
Was just interested if the fence had a different name in other places… Sculptures sound Kool… my Hero of casing large bronze animals out of driftwood is Deborah Butterfield, she does bigger than life horses.
I would love to see some of her work (in real life). Like the photographs that I've seen of her work a lot.
If you are ever in DC there is one of her horses in the Portrait Gallery/American Art Downtown! One of my favorites here and in my neighborhood. It is part of the permanent collections top floor.

Excellent – I could well be in DC in a couple of months time – will check it out. FWIIW my background i painting and sculpture – latecomer to photography.
