An attempt to make a common object, in this case a metal door knob look a little less commonplace. I wanted to get between the knob itself and the plate that attaches to the door as this shows a view that we rarely see. The tight close up messes around with the scale. There is no real clue in the picture to how big it really is. Just for reference the top to bottom axis of the image represents about two inches.
I shot this with a Canon Powershot A3100IS point and shoot as it was possible to get the lens in much closer than I could have with a DSLR. The front of the lens was about an inch from the door knob and set to macro.
There is something about door handles that makes me want to photograph them, not quite sure what it is. Here is one of a bathroom cabinet knob that I posted last week
