Mobile Version Glitches
I am currently trying to iron out one or two problems with the mobile version of this site. The main problem is with images not showing up, especially in the case of older posts.
One thing that can be done with this site is that the user, i.e. you, can decide which version of the site they want to view. Right at the bottom of every page on the left hand side is a link that says either switch to mobile or switch to desktop. If the site isn’t functioning right, or even if you just want to see the other version click on the link. In theory you should then only get that version of the site until you click on it again.
Even without the glitches the above could be useful – say you are using an iPad the server may deliver the mobile site to your device but the desktop version may actually be easier. The delivery of a perfect option to each and every device is nigh on impossible so feel free to experiment – you can always change back. If you’d prefer a black on white, more minimal version of the site and are viewing on a computer again it may be worth switching. The mobile version will work fine other than the minor issues mentioned above. It will also probably load faster as well. If I am checking the site for mistakes and redundancies I tend to use the mobile version for this reason.
A couple of other issues that I’m trying to do is to get images to show up on the front (Index) page of the mobile site and to find a way of getting the about, contact and links to other photographers pages to show.
