Part of the attraction of using a tiltshift lens is that its use can seriously mess with the brains perception of scale. It can force the brain to percieve very big things (e.g. cars, houses) as being very small (e.g. Lego small) I have no idea at all of how this happens.
Because I have to much time on my hands and it is Friday afternoon I decided to see what would happen if the subject was very small to start with. Would the brain's sense of scale be thrown of and if so how?
Well, the result was a big fat nothing – as far as I can tell the illusion does not extend to small stuff as the subject.
Anyway, here is the resulting photo. The tilt shift thing is fake and was done using PS CS4's lens blur filter.
